A blog allows one to pontificate without the additional inconvenience of having to be Pope. Bless you, my children (in the nicest, most secular way, of course). The reflections range over a wide variety of topics that include philosophy, history, biography, and language. Please refrain from sanctimony — thank you for stifling any tempting platitudes.
